Slurry Blasting Cleaning of Transmission Components
for Remanufacturing
PROCECO Slurry Blasting is a unique, patented, automatic blast cleaning process that uses a combination of recirculating metallic blast media and heated alkaline cleaning solution. This is a centrifugal wheel-type blast cleaning process, offering fast and highly efficient cleaning of parts for high volume and difficult remanufacturing applications. Unlike typical dry-type wheel blast systems, this process removes wet oil, grease, rust, paint, and road soils all in a single process step without the need for pre-washing parts.
The variable speed blast wheel throws a controlled combination of wash solution, to remove oil, and blast media to remove the difficult soils. At the end of the slurry blast process, parts are automatically rinsed to remove residual blast media and apply a rust inhibitor. The cleaning process is fast (typical cycle time is 2-8 minutes), providing dramatic cleaning results for automotive, truck and off-road drive train components. Because the process is wet, there no dust generated, thus no need for a dust collector.
